Custom Portrait Artist Todd Belcher
Pet portraits have become a specialty for Todd Belcher, a custom portrait painter with an established reputation for his original artwork and professional illustrations.
Todd found his passion as a custom pet portrait artist when he painted a portrait of Jimmy, his beloved pet, for the Jimmydog Design Group logo. It turned out to be a pivotal painting for Todd. He realized that his gift as a custom portrait painter combined with his natural empathy for animals could create distinctively meaningful works of art.
Todd's custom pet portraits feature richly dimensional environments, but most significantly, they seem to magically capture the personality of the subject. People who have commissioned portraits have said that his work has "soul" and that he "brings pets to life" through his painting. Now, several years after first painting Jimmydog, Todd remains inspired by the knowledge that he is creating art that will be deeply treasured by the recipient.
Todd's custom pet portraits have been featured in national publications, including Modern Dog and Just for Pets. He received his B.S. and M.A. in Art Education from Appalachian State University.
Todd has served as an art instructor in various settings, including public schools, community colleges and universities. Todd's work is featured in many Southeastern galleries and exhibitions. For more information
